OUR STORY

Kallio Block Party (also known by its abbreviation KBP) is a popular urban festival organized by the Kallio-Liike in the district of Kallio in Helsinki. Once it was organized for the first time in 2011, the event filled the streets, parks, and public spaces of Kallio with music, art, and street culture. The tale of Kallio Block Party has kept going and it’s coming back once again in 2024!

KBP is an inclusive festival, meaning it is not enclosed by fences or other barriers. The event is entirely organized by volunteers, reflecting a sense of community and local participation. Held every year on the first Saturday of August, the festival transforms the lively streets of Kallio into pedestrian areas bustling with performance stages, food stalls, and crowds of people. The movement of cars within the festival area is restricted during the event, allowing for free movement and a safe environment for all participants.

The event is free of charge and open to everyone, making it easily accessible to both locals and visitors.
